Gunmen have abducted Alhaja Seliat Raji, sister to renowned lawyer Ahmed Raji (SAN), in a violent attack that also claimed the life of her security guard.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening at Seliat’s residence in Iseyin.

According to eyewitnesses, the assailants arrived on motorcycles and forcibly entered the property.

During the abduction, they shot and killed the security guard who attempted to thwart their efforts.

The gunmen subsequently fled the scene, taking Alhaja Seliat Raji in her Lexus car.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident on Friday.

He said “Investigation is ongoing. Updates will be communicated.”

He stressed  that efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits and secure the release of the victim.

This abduction comes amid a backdrop of rising security concerns in the region, highlighting a troubling trend of kidnappings and violent crimes.

Recently, workers from Dangote Cement were also kidnapped in Edo State, further underscoring the pervasive insecurity affecting the area.
