The Ogun State government has commended the Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi Foundation (MAMF) for its outstanding contributions to the improvement of primary school education in the state through the organization of a creativity challenge.

At the grand finale of the creativity challenge held in Abeokuta, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, praised the foundation’s efforts in enhancing the academic and intellectual capacities of primary school pupils.

Dr. Majekodunmi emphasized that the initiative is crucial for identifying and nurturing vibrant pupils, particularly in the art of public speaking.

“This challenge is a significant effort to provide sustainable interventions in the academic standards of our pupils,” Dr. Majekodunmi stated.

“It aims to inculcate the art of public speaking in our young ones, ensuring they develop the intellectual capacity needed to excel in various educational activities and innovative programs.”

Dr. Majekodunmi highlighted that such initiatives are instrumental in preventing children from dropping out of school, noting that primary education in Ogun State is witnessing substantial improvements.

He attributed these advancements to the continuous support from Governor Dapo Abiodun, despite the numerous challenges, including funding constraints.

“The governor deserves commendation for prioritizing education.Despite the challenges, primary education is improving in Ogun, thanks to his dedication and support,” Dr. Femi  Majekodunmi added.

He urged the students to always aim high and strive to be the best, pointing out that the activities and support from agencies such as UBEC, SUBEB, the World Bank, and others are contributing significantly to reducing the number of out-of-school children.

The Executive Director of MAMF, Dr. Mrs. Bolaji Fati, expressed the foundation’s commitment to education and healthcare.

She noted that the second edition of the creativity challenge has made a positive impact and that MAMF would continue its efforts to support the educational development of pupils in Ogun State.

“The Creativity Challenge is aimed at fostering creativity and innovation among public primary school pupils,” Dr. Fati said.

“The programme inspires all participants to continue exploring their creative potential and striving for excellence.”

She disclosed that the participants of the competition were randomly selected from six local governments across Ogun State, with pupils representing their schools in the creativity challenge.

Out of one hundred and fifty entries selected by SUBEB from public schools, fifty pupils participated in the initial stage, and fifteen were shortlisted for the grand finale.

At the end of the contest, Aworinde Sunmisola emerged as the winner, Akinwunmi Joseph secured the second position, and Victoria Akinrolabu took third place.

Dr. Fati affirmed that the foundation would continue to support the winners, encouraging them to participate in scholarship opportunities provided by MAMF, thereby furthering their educational pursuits and overall development.
