APC Governors Acknowledge Economic Challenges, Urge Patience Amid Nationwide Protests

The Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), representing governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians and appealed for restraint as the government works to address the issues.

Speaking after a closed-door meeting on Wednesday night, PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, urged Nigerian youths to refrain from participating in planned protests, assuring them that the administration’s reforms would ultimately benefit the country.

Governor Uzodimma highlighted the challenges faced by President Bola Tinubu’s government, noting that the economic policies and reforms being implemented were encountering “teething problems.”

However, he expressed confidence in the government’s ability to navigate the crisis and restore economic stability.

“We are very hopeful that these policies are the solution to the current economic hardship,” he stated.

The PGF’s appeal comes amid widespread frustration over rising inflation, unemployment, and economic uncertainty.

Governor Uzodimma emphasized the need for unity and patriotism, urging Nigerians not to be swayed by opposition parties or social media campaigns that may incite unrest.

“Already, Nigerians have suffered enough,” he said, referencing the global economic downturn, domestic insecurity, and political tensions.

In a call for calm and patience, Uzodimma reassured citizens that the government is working diligently to address these issues.

He encouraged Nigerians to support the government’s efforts, saying, “We have no other country we can call our own.”
