The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has disclosed that an overwhelming response from job seekers has led to the crash of it’s its job application portal.
This issue was confirmed in a statement by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Olufemi Soneye.
Soneye noted that the unexpected surge in traffic to the NNPC Ltd career page has resulted in slower load times and occasional accessibility problems.
He assured the public that efforts are underway to resolve the issue promptly, stating, “Our techs are working diligently to rectify the problem. Please be assured that the application process deadline remains August 20, 2024.”
The crash occurred shortly after NNPC Ltd announced numerous job vacancies, inviting qualified candidates to apply for various positions across the organization.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the job openings have attracted widespread attention, leading to an influx of applications that the system was not prepared to handle.
In response to the portal’s crash, NNPC Ltd reiterated the importance of applicants using the official career page for their submissions.
The company issued a disclaimer emphasizing that it is not liable for applications submitted through any other websites.
“NNPC Limited does not charge any fees for submission of job applications,” the statement clarified.
The company also warned that any false information provided during the application process could lead to immediate disqualification and potential prosecution.
The technical glitch highlights the immense interest in employment opportunities at NNPC Ltd, one of Nigeria’s most prominent state-owned enterprises.
The company, responsible for oil and gas exploration, production, and distribution in the country, remains a highly sought-after employer.
