The Kano State Judiciary and several churches in Katsina State have reported significant losses following violent invasions by miscreants and hoodlums amid ongoing nationwide protests against hardship.

In Kano, the judiciary counted its losses after miscreants, masquerading as hunger protesters, invaded the state high court.

The spokesperson for the Kano State High Court, Baba Ibrahim, stated on Sunday that the vandals vandalised offices, razed vehicles, and stole exhibits in ongoing cases, including guns recovered from suspected criminals.

Ibrahim said, “On Thursday, rioters claiming to be #EndBadGovernment protesters broke into the court premises, vandalised offices, and stole an unspecified amount of money and guns seized from kidnappers and kept as exhibits.

“ Private and official vehicles were razed or vandalised, and new and old case files were destroyed.”

Meanwhile, in Katsina State, hoodlums looted over 205 chairs, musical instruments, and other valuable items from churches during the first day of the nationwide protest against hardship.

The Living Faith Church in Daura Local Government Area was severely affected, as reported by its Pastor, David Jato.

Jato stated, “The hoodlums broke into the church, stealing everything inside, including musical instruments, digital wall clock, desktop computer, and church documents.

The invasion prevented us from holding our Sunday service, forcing us to worship at home cells.”

He added that the hoodlums targeted three churches, successfully invading the Living Faith Church and Deeper Life, while the Anglican church was spared due to strong gate protection.

Pastor Jato condemned the attack, calling for repentance from the perpetrators and urging the government to serve humanity better.

Similarly, Very Reverend Nelson Onyekachuku of the Power of Resurrection Church, also affected by the vandalism, called on the government to address the issues and protect churches from such attacks.
