A Nigerian soldier, identified as Warrant Officer Suleiman, has been brutally attacked by a group of bandits who also abducted his wife and son in the Sabon Wuse area of Tafa Local Government Area, Niger State.

The incident, which occurred at Suleiman’s residence on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, has left the community in shock and fear.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the house around midnight, subjecting the soldier to a brutal assault before taking away his family members.

A source close to the family confirmed that Suleiman is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the state.

The severity of his injuries remains undisclosed, but there are growing concerns over the whereabouts and safety of his abducted wife and son.

According to some of his colleagues, Warrant Officer Suleiman was only a few months away from retirement.

“WO Suleiman was attacked in his personal residence at Sabon Wuse in Tafa LGA on 6 August 2024 at midnight. After the attack, his wife and her son were kidnapped, and nobody is aware of their whereabouts until now,” one of his colleagues revealed.

The soldier, who had been preparing for his retirement training at Oshodi, Lagos State, previously worked for the wife of General Martin Luther Agwai, a former Chief of Defence Staff.

Efforts to reach the Niger State Police Command for comments were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
