A new Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Adamawa State, has assumed office.

The new commandant, Idris Bande, was welcomed into his office at the state command headquarters in Yola on Thursday by officials and personnel of the corps at the state level.

Commandant Bande came to the Adamawa Command after he was transferred from Zone B Headquarters, Kaduna, a statement from the state command headquarters disclosed.

The statement, signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Nyako Amidu Baba, added that the new commandant replaces Ibrahim Mainasara, who has served as the state commandant for 1 year and 3 months.

“He becomes the 15th state commandant of the NSCDC Adamawa State Command”, the statement said about Idris Bande.

According to the statement, the former commandant, during the handover ceremony, urged the management, officers, and men of the command to extend their full support to Commandant Bande to ensure a seamless transition and foster a conducive environment for the corps.

In his response, Commandant Bande expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the NSCDC family in Adamawa State and promised to build upon the successes achieved by his predecessor.

He said he was committed to implementing strategies that will further enhance national security and contribute to the overall well-being of Adamawa people.
