PATH, a leading global health organization, has released its 2023 Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Annual Report, marking significant achievements in fostering a more inclusive and representative workplace.
The report underscores the organization’s commitment to advancing DEI principles across all levels, highlighting its vital role in enhancing global health outcomes.
In a year marked by progress, PATH achieved gender parity across all organizational levels for the first time since 2020.
The organization also reported a 25 percent increase in Black staff in the United States since 2021, a reflection of PATH’s dedication to racial equity and workforce diversity.
Women now make up the majority of PATH’s executive leadership team, further demonstrating the organization’s commitment to gender equity.
Nikolaj Gilbert, President and CEO of PATH, expressed pride in the report’s findings, emphasizing that DEI is more than just a workplace initiative.
“Our 2023 DEI annual report fills me with pride,” said Gilbert. “It showcases our genuine commitment to a workplace where diversity thrives, equity is paramount, and inclusion is ingrained.
These aren’t just ideals—they’re the driving force behind our mission to advance health equity.”
The report also highlights the expansion of People Resource Groups, with the launch of Latinx at PATH and Asian at PATH, fostering a stronger sense of community among diverse staff members.
Additionally, more than 50 percent of PATH’s projects have incorporated Equity in Programming Benchmarks, ensuring that equity is central to the organization’s work.
Levis Nderitu, Global Head of DEI at PATH, highlighted the ongoing nature of this work.
“This report is a labor of love from all our colleagues and reflects our progress toward integrating DEI principles across our people, business practices, and public health programming. While we’ve made significant strides, we recognize that leveling the playing field so that everyone can thrive is an ongoing journey,” said Nderitu.
PATH’s 2023 DEI report not only details internal progress but also features insights from leaders, spotlights on country divisions, and partnerships that drive DEI objectives forward.
