PR Primus Limited, the producers of the renowned Public Relations programme “Your Image” on Ogun State Television (OGTV), has announced plans to repackage the weekly show to strategically promote both local and international brands within the Nigerian market.

This was revealed by the Chief Executive Officer of the PR firm, Mr. Akin Okudero, during a courtesy visit to the management team of OGTV in Abeokuta on Thursday.

The visit was part of the activities lined up to mark the 10th anniversary of the programme, which has become a flagship in the realm of public relations on television in Africa.

The milestone celebration is set to culminate in a public lecture scheduled for October 9, 2024, at Park-Inn and Radisson Hotel in Abeokuta.

Okudero, a veteran in the field of public relations and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), disclosed that the programme would undergo significant enhancements, leveraging advancements in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

These changes aim to broaden the show’s viewership and establish a more robust media platform for companies to effectively market their brands in Nigeria’s increasingly competitive economy.

“A number of segments will be introduced on the programme to accommodate youth participation and to create a stronger media platform for companies to showcase their various products and services to a wider audience across the globe on OGTV,” Okudero stated.

He further expressed deep appreciation to OGTV’s management for their unwavering support over the past decade, which has been instrumental in the programme’s success.

Okudero, who once served as the Chairman of the Ogun Chapter of NIPR, called for the continued collaboration between PR Primus Limited and OGTV to ensure the programme’s rebranding efforts build on its past achievements.

The 10th anniversary of “Your Image” has received official endorsement from the NIPR, the regulatory body for public relations practice in Nigeria, further cementing the programme’s standing as a leading PR initiative on African television.

In response, OGTV’s General Manager, Tunde Kassim, pledged the station’s continued support for the repackaging of the programme.

He expressed optimism that the new features to be introduced would attract prospective sponsors, enhancing the programme’s appeal and reach.

Kassim also commended the selection of Prince Yemisi Shyllon as the guest speaker for the upcoming anniversary lecture, affirming that OGTV, as one of Nigeria’s premier commercial television stations, would actively participate in the historic celebration of “Your Image.”
