    Colombia 2024: Falconets’ Yina wins Player of the Match vs Korea

    Falconets star, Philomina Addo Yina claimed the Player of the Match award following the side’s victory over Korea on Monday morning.

    Chris Danjuma’s side won the Group D encounter at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 1-0.

    Flourish Sabastine’s 84th minute strike separated both teams on the night.

    It was Nigeria’s fourth consecutive victory over Korea, having won 2-0 in 2012, 2-1 in 2014 and 1-0 in 2022.




    Yina was Nigeria’s best performer in the keenly contested encounter.

    The midfielder took to social media to celebrate the individual accolade.

    “Jude 1:24 -25. All glory, and honor, and praise belongs to you Father the KING of kings and LORD of lords!

    “Nigerians, this is for you.

    “My teammate, this is you.

    “My coach and the staff, this is for you.

    “My family’s here, this is everyone of you.

    “Unto the next ,” she wrote on X.

    The Falconets will face former champions, Germany in their next game on Wednesday.
