During the ceremony, the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Afeez Balogun, described the event as a significant milestone in the history of Abeokuta South.

He expressed optimism about the council’s potential to drive developmental projects in the local government.

“This is a time for collaboration and commitment. The legislators must work together to deliver on their promises and ensure progress for Abeokuta South Local Government.I believe this council will achieve great things,” Balogun said in his address.

He charged the legislators to enact bylaws that would directly benefit the grassroots, emphasizing their responsibility as a call to service.

He pledged his unwavering support for the council and urged them to align with the ISEYA agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun, which focuses on inclusivity and development.

Hon. Ogundairo, in his acceptance speech as Speaker, called for cooperation among council members to achieve a shared vision for a more progressive and developed Abeokuta South.

“I am committed to ensuring a better and more advanced local government, and I assure the Chairman that we will work closely to achieve enviable development for our people,” Ogundairo stated.

Hon. Azeez Sanusi, the Deputy Speaker, also expressed confidence in the council’s ability to deliver tangible results.
