Abraham Amah has been elected as the new State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State.
Amah, who was the immediate past State Vice Chairman, Abia North/acting State Publicity Secretary of the party, scored 1,264 votes to defeat his closest rival, Olugu Kalu who scored 395 votes to come second.
Amah, who is from Ihechiowa in Arochukwu local government area of Abia State, has been a critic of the present Labour Party-led administration in the State and is one of the umbrella party’s top shots who refused to dump the party.
Zonal leaders of PDP who were elected on Sunday are: Onwuka Kalu elected as Chairman of Abia Central, Enyinnaya Appolos Chairman of Abia South, while Abia Elendu Kalu Elendu was elected the Chairman of Abia North.
