The African Democratic Congress has unveiled its timetable for primary elections ahead of the 2027 general polls, fixing May 25, 2026, for its presidential primary and pegging the nomination form at N100m.
The party also announced a detailed schedule for other elective positions, alongside a structured fee regime for aspirants seeking its tickets.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the timetable underscores its commitment to internal democracy and strict adherence to electoral guidelines.
According to the schedule, the sale of nomination forms will commence on May 5 and end on May 10, while submission of completed forms is slated for May 11 to May 13.
The party said screening of aspirants would take place between May 14 and May 15, with results to be published on May 17.
It added that appeals arising from the screening would be entertained from May 18 to May 19, while the final list of cleared aspirants would be released on May 20.
The statement noted that primary elections for state Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats would hold simultaneously at the ward level on May 21.
It further disclosed that governorship primaries are scheduled for May 22, while the presidential primary will be conducted on May 25.
Abdullahi added that the party’s National Executive Committee meeting would hold on May 26, followed by a special national convention on May 27 for final ratification of candidates.
On the cost of nomination forms, the ADC fixed the presidential form at N100m, governorship at N50m, Senate at N20m, House of Representatives at N10m, and State House of Assembly at N3m.
The party, however, introduced concessions aimed at encouraging inclusivity, offering a 50 per cent discount for youths and a 25 per cent reduction for women and persons with disabilities.
“We call on all members, stakeholders and aspirants to strictly adhere to the approved timetable and guidelines,” the statement added.
