Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured the National Boundary Commission, NBC, of his administration’s commitment in resolving ongoing boundary disputes, particularly with neighbouring Oyo State.

This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the NBC team led by the Director General, Surveyor Adamu Adaji, on Tuesday.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi, Adeleke emphasised that maintaining peace in Osun is non-negotiable.

He highlighted the state’s efforts in addressing boundary issues, which include deploying technocrats for on-the-ground assessments and engaging the NBC as an impartial mediator to ensure fair resolution.

“These actions demonstrate our unwavering commitment to peaceful dispute resolution, prioritising the welfare of our citizens,” the governor noted.

He expressed confidence in the NBC’s impartiality and pledged to abide by the commission’s recommendations.

Urging the affected communities to embrace peace, Adeleke stressed that the involvement of the NBC would promote stability and foster cooperation between Osun and its neighbors.

In his remarks, NBC Director General Adamu Adaji reiterated the Commission’s mandate to ensure peaceful coexistence among states by clearly defining boundaries and resolving conflicts.

He assured the public that fairness, justice and equity remain central to the NBC’s work.
