AFCON 2025 Qualifier: Benin Republic Defender Ruled Out Of Super Eagles Clash

The Cheetahs of Benin Republic wil be without reliable defender Mohamed Tijani in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria.

Tijani, according to reports emanating from the Cheetahs camp, sprained his ankle in training this week.

The medical staff are however working hard to ensure he is available for the team’s home clash with the Mediterranean Knights of Libya next week Tuesday.

The 27-year-old starred in Benin Republic’s 2-1 victory over the Super Eagles in June.

His absence will be a big blow for head coach, Gernot Rohr, who will be hoping for another win against their neighbours.

The Cheetahs will be up against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday.
