AFCON 2025 qualifier: Super Eagles must fight hard to beat Benin Republic – Okoye
Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has admitted that the Super Eagles must be at their best to beat the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.
The Super Eagles will begin their quest for a place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with an home game against Gernot Rohr’s side in Uyo on Saturday.
Okoye, who stated that the players are working hard in training is however upbeat they will beat the Cheetahs
“Very important games upcoming. For sure they play a mental role but we are getting prepared for this now and for sure we will get the win because these are very important qualifiers and we have to be at our best and perform on our highest level,” the former Sparta Rotterdam shot stopper said on NFF TV.
Okoye also expressed happiness with the return of captain William Troost-Ekong to the team.
“For sure there are important players and we need them also in the team like Troost-Ekong, it’s good to have him back and for sure there will be a difference,” he added.
