Aiyedatiwa Threatens Legal Action Against Lawyer Over Certificate Forgery Accusation

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has issued a stern warning to lawyer Oladotun Hassan of Juryman Associate Chambers, demanding a public apology and withdrawal of false allegations regarding certificate forgery.

The governor, through his counsel Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), challenged Hassan’s accusations and threatened legal action if demands weren’t met within seven days.

The dispute arose from a petition filed by Hassan to the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission, alleging certificate forgery by Governor Aiyedatiwa. However, the governor vehemently denied these claims and demanded accountability from Hassan for circulating what he described as baseless and damaging publications.

Despite a purported police investigation into Aiyedatiwa’s West African School Certificate Examination, which allegedly found no evidence of attendance at Ikoyi High School, Ikosi-Ketu, Lagos, the governor insists on his innocence. He provided detailed examination center information and result scores to refute the allegations.

In response, Hassan stood by his petition, claiming authenticity and asserting his right to seek accountability. The situation escalated as Aiyedatiwa’s legal team demanded a public apology, withdrawal of false publications, and compensation for damages inflicted on the governor’s reputation.

The governor’s representatives emphasized the gravity of the accusations, stating they had brought Aiyedatiwa into public ridicule unjustly. They urged Hassan to cease further dissemination of false information and comply with their demands within the stipulated timeframe.
