The Osun command of the south-west security network, Amotekun, has made a significant arrest, capturing a 26-year-old commercial bus driver suspected of abducting a 15-year-old girl in Osogbo, the capital of the state.
Bashir Adewinmbi, the commander of Amot gekun in Osun, revealed on Monday that the girl had boarded the suspect’s bus on Saturday, only to mysteriously find herself at the suspect’s residence instead of her intended destination.
According to Adewinmbi, the victim reported that she regained consciousness as the driver was allegedly attempting to assault her sexually.
She further stated that when she resisted, the suspect produced a black substance, which he consumed, and then ordered her to accompany him to his house.
The commander explained, “The victim said when she resisted the suspect, he brought out a black substance which he licked and commanded her to go home and pack her belongings to his house.”
Further detailing the events, Adewinmbi mentioned, “The girl said the suspect rode on a commercial motorcycle with her to her residence to ensure that she did not go against his directives.
She said when she got home, she regained her senses and raised an alarm which attracted men of the private security outfit who arrested the suspect.”
The arrested suspect reportedly confessed to the crime and admitted to using charms to hypnotize women, indicating that this was not his first instance of such behavior.
Following the apprehension, the suspect has been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NATIP) in Osogbo for further investigation and interrogation.
