Samuel Anyanwu has resumed office as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following a Supreme Court ruling that affirmed his position, nullifying an earlier judgment that had sacked him.

Speaking at the PDP national secretariat on Friday, Anyanwu expressed gratitude to party leaders and supporters, singling out Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for standing by him during the legal battle.

“I want to thank my leaders across the country and PDP faithful who stood by the truth,” he said. “This victory is not for me alone; it is for all PDP faithful.”

He also extended appreciation to those who challenged his position, stating that their opposition ultimately strengthened him.

In a bid to unify the party, Anyanwu reassured members of the National Working Committee (NWC) that they remained a family. “We came in as one family, and we will leave as one family,” he said.

With an eye on the 2027 general election, Anyanwu called for unity within the party, urging members to desist from actions that could weaken the PDP. “This is the only party we have, and Nigerians love PDP,” he stated.

Additionally, he appealed to former party members who had defected to return, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to rebuild the party’s strength ahead of the next election cycle.
