Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta promoted three youngsters of Nigerian descent to first-team training on Wednesday.

According to Arsenal youth team insider Jeorge Bird, a group of academy players were invited to train with the first team.

Among the invited teenagers are Ife Ibrahim, Cam’ron Ismail and Andre Harriman-Annous.

Ibrahim and Harriman-Annous are first-year scholars, while Cam’ron Ismail entered the second year of his scholarship in July 2024.

Arteta invited them because as many as 12 first-team players are away on international duty with their respective countries.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Jakub Kiwior, David Raya, Declan Rice, William Saliba, Riccardo Calafiori, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel were not present at Sobha Realty Training Centre because of international commitments.
