The Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened to create a hall of shame for corrupt judges that deliver what it described as ridiculous judgements on election petitions. The Central Bank of Nigeria has denied that it is planning to phase out the redesigned naira notes from circulation. The CBN Acting Director, Corporate Communications Department, Isa AbdulMumin, said this via a statement issued on Sunday. Reacting to a viral report on social media that CBN was contemplating the withdrawal of the recently redesigned N1,000, N500, and N200 banknotes from circulation. The Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Saturday paraded four suspects who kidnapped a retired permanent secretary in the state, Ignatius Brown of Abak Local Government Area and demanded a ransom of N80m . Addressing journalists at the command’s headquarters, Uyo, the state capital while parading the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi said family members, out of desperation, gathered some money and paid the suspects but police operatives were able to trace the kidnappers’ hideout, rescued the victim and arrested some suspects.
