The Senate after passing the bil into law, directed the Clerk of National Assembly to transmit the Constitution alteration bill No. 58 to President Muhammadu Buhari for ascent. Aminat Gusanu Minister of Science,Technology and Innovation,Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora,has called for a ban on all foreign products,saying that, Nigeria has the capacity to produce locally. Speaking at a ministerial briefing organized by the Presidential Communication Team at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, Mamora said the ban was necessary to protect local production and inventions. An officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Inspector Abel Dickson, has lost his life during a fight with his colleagues over the custody of some items belonging to a suspect in detention. The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed the incident in Abuja on Tuesday. Uwujaren said the deceased and two other colleagues, Assistant Superintendent Apata Odunayo and Inspector Ogbuji Tochukwu, were attached to the Sokoto State Command of the commission. Adejoke Adebiyi The Ogun State Police command on Tuesday,  paraded 39 suspected members of two cult groups and one armed robbery suspect. The suspects were said to have been causing widespread terror in the state in recent times. Peace Adedigba A Magistrates’ Court 1 sitting in Bauchi, on Tuesday, admitted a Bauchi-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Idris Abdulaziz, to strigent bail conditions which include N1 million, a Permanent Secretary and two others as sureties. The Federal Government has disclosed that the governments of Olusegun Obasanjo; late Umar Musa Yar’Adua ; Dr Goodluck Jonathan and the current government of Muhamamdu Buhari have spent N13 trillion on fuel subsidy. The National Emergency Management Agency, said that not less than 228 buildings were destroyed while 336 families were affected by recent rainfall in some parts of Lagos state . The Lagos Office Territorial Coordinator of NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye said an assessment of rainfall in Lagos between May 1 and May 15 showed that magnitude of the impact in various degrees. The President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has approved not less than 72 Universities between 2015 and 2023 . The administration in it’s latest approval on Monday, announced the establishment of 37 new private universities. PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the 72 Universities approved by Buhari government include, 14 Federal Universities, 21 State Universities and 37 Private Universities from 2015 to date . Tragedy struck when a woman, Zainab Ibrahim lost her lives while separating a fight that ensued between her two sons, Inusa and Usman Ibrahim .
