No fewer than 3.25 million complaints over outrageous billings among others have been made by customers to the electricity distribution companies, also known as DisCos within five years. The complaints also included service interruptions and illegal disconnections. PLATFORM TIMES gathered that 430 employees of the companies and the third parties have died in the last five years . The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, on Friday, declared that human rights violations allegations levelled against the Nigerian military by Reuters, were not only shocking but also spurious. Irabor said this when he appeared before the National Human Rights Commission investigative panel on rights violations in counter-insurgency operations by the military in the North-East. An Ondo monarch, the Ajagun-Ode of Ode community, Oba Adewale Boboye has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for unlawfully demolishing palm trees and food crops. An Osi Magistrate Court, in Akure North council area of Ondo state who was sentenced had earlier been charged with malicious damage. A 40-year-old Lagos pastor, David Ihejirika, has been arraigned before the Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ojo, Lagos State, for allegedly defrauding a woman of N1.1 million. Ihejirika, who was arraigned before the court on Friday, was charged with obtaining money by false pretence, causing a breach of peace and theft. He, however, pleaded “not guilty” to the charge. A divorce-seeking husband, Oyeyinka Adegoke, on Friday, pleaded with a Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan to save him from his wife, Wuraola, whom he alleged was diabolic.
