Tragedy was narrowly averted on Tuesday as five individuals narrowly escaped death on Ureje River in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has instructed state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards to commence preparations for the 2024 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. In response, NAHCON has established a tentative fare of N4.5 million per slot for the pilgrimage and directed the affected boards to start collecting deposits from prospective pilgrims within their respective states.
