The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has secured the conviction of Mr. Quadri Ismail Adeyinka, a staff member of the Nigeria Immigration Service, for passport fraud.  Adeyinka was sentenced to a total of seven years in prison by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja. In a remarkable display of courage and quick thinking, Nigerian Army Captain J.O. Abalaka has  freed himself and other hostages from a kidnapping gang in Kogi State.  The dramatic incident unfolded along the Ekpoma/Okene/Lokoja Road, as Captain Abalaka was en route to his new assignment at the operational headquarters of the Maiduguri Command in Borno State. The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board announced on Sunday that a female pilgrim from Nigeria has committed suicide in Madina.  According to Saudi Arabian authorities, the incident involved a pilgrim named Hajia Hawawu who reportedly jumped from the rooftop of her apartment.
