The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has announced a substantial increase in the Maximum Deposit Insurance Coverage for banks operating in the country.  NDIC’s Managing Director, Bello Hassan disclosed this at a media briefing in Abuja .  PLATFORM TIMES reports that the  MDIC for Deposit Money Banks has been raised from N500,000 to N5m, for Microfinance Banks from N200,000 to N2m, for Primary Mortgage Banks from N500,000 to N2m, and for Mobile Money Operators subscribers’ pass-through from N500,000 to N5m per subscriber. Men of  the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested two female suspects, Kulu Dogonyaro and Elizabeth Ojah for child trafficking. PLATFORM TIMES reports that the suspects were nabbed  on Saturday while  making attempt to traffick  five children into the Federal Capital Territory. A  32-year-old man masquerading as a medical doctor has been apprehended in Ororuwo town, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, following the tragic death of a pregnant woman under his care.  Police  have apprehended the alleged mastermind behind the heinous attack on passengers traveling on the Abuja-Kaduna train route.  Identified as Ibrahim Abdullahi, also known as Mandi, the suspect was apprehended during a well-coordinated operation. The  Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed the arrest on Thursday in Abuja. Abdullahi, believed to be a key figure in orchestrating the assault, has also been linked to the abduction of students from Greenfield University in 2021. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria  on Thursday said that the inaugural flight to Saudi Arabia would take off on May 15. The NAHCON Chairman/CEO, Mallam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, disclosed this  in his opening remark at the first National Stakeholder Summit of Nigeria’s Hajj and Umrah Industry held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen. Edward Buba has revealed that  12 personnel of the Nigerian Army are facing a court martial in respect of the bombing incident at Tudun Biri in Kaduna State. International travelers passing through the newly built terminal at Malam Aminu International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano have protested  following an  extreme discomfort they faced  due to malfunctioning air conditioning systems.  PLATFORM TIMES reports  that despite temperatures soaring to 43 degrees Celsius, the cooling units at the terminal are unable to provide relief, leaving passengers feeling as though they are being roasted alive.
