Kano Municipal Local Government Council authorities in Kano State have officially acknowledged the presence of a measles outbreak in certain regions within the local government area. During a session of the Emergency Preparedness Response Committee at the local government secretariat, Alhaji Aliyu Jinjiri Kiru, the Primary Health Care Coordinator, revealed the alarming situation.  Reports of numerous measles and other infectious disease cases surfaced from various health centers in the Municipal Local Government Area, particularly in Sharada, Madatai, and Gandun Albasa. The Southwest Youth Advocacy Network has accused Finance Minister Wale Edun of hindering the federal government’s fight against poverty, urging President Bola Tinubu to address controversial decisions made by Edun. The Plateau Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service says it has not reduced the quantity and quality of food rations for inmates. Spokesman of the command, Mr Godfrey Longdiem, stated this in Jos on Saturday while reacting to media reports that inmates at the Jos Custodial Centre protested over shortage of food on Friday.
