DAILY POST brings you all you need to know about this year’s 2024 Ballon d’Or.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, on Monday evening.

The ceremony will begin at 7pm GMT as world’s best players will gather to receive one of the sport’s most historic prestigious individual prizes.

For the first time in the last 21 years, neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo have been nominated in the men’s category.

Messi is the current holder of the Ballon d’Or after winning it last year ahead of Erling Haaland.

However, the Argentina captain did not make the top 30-man nominees for this year’s Ballon d’Or, which includes the likes of Jude Bellingham, Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Dani Carvajal, Rúben Dias, Artem Dovbyk, Phil Foden, Alejandro Grimaldo, Erling Haaland, Mats Hummels, Harry Kane, Toni Kroos, Ademola Lookman, Emiliano Martínez, Lautaro Martínez and Kylian Mbappé.

Others are Martin Ødegaard, Dani Olmo, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Rodri, Antonio Rüdiger, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Federico Valverde, Vinícius Júnior, Vitinha, Nico Williams, Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka and Lamine Yamal.

The winner will be the player who receives the most points of vote.

Meanwhile, the Feminin Ballon d’Or will be awarded for the best female player

Also, the Kopa Trophy will be given to the best men’s under-21 player, the Yashin Trophy for best goalkeeper and the men’s and women’s Coach of the Year Trophy will be awarded tonight.

The award ceremony will be aired via the official website of France football and also on L’Equipe’s YouTube channel.
