Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has refused to pick a single player when asked to name his choice for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.
All the Belgian hopes for is just that a Real Madrid player is handed the award.
DAILY POST reports that seven Real Madrid players have made it to the list of 30 nominees this year.
Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rüdiger, Kylian Mbappé and Toni Kroos are all listed.
Kylian Mbappé, who joined the club in June on a five-year contract from Paris Saint-Germain, scored 44 goals and made 10 assists while winning the Ligue 1, and Coupe de France with Les Parisiens last season.
When asked to name his choice for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award, the former Belgium International simply said he would want the winner to be from Real Madrid
He said (via Madrid Xtra, “Ballon d’Or? Hopefully one of my teammates wins it. They all have merit, but I hope the winner is from Real Madrid.”
