    Boy, 8, dies after being shot inside farm

    An eight-year-old boy has tragically died after being shot in the head and face at a farm in Warcop, Cumbria.

    The boy was airlifted to a hospital following the incident, which occurred at around 14:50 BST on Saturday but he succumbed to his injuries overnight.

    Cumbria Police confirmed that a man in his 60s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. He has since been re-arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and remains in police custody as investigations continue.

    The police have secured the firearm involved in the incident and are currently working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.




    A police spokesperson said, “We are thoroughly investigating the events that led to this tragic accident.”

    Further details regarding the boy’s identity or the relationship between the suspect and the victim have not yet been released.”
