Buhari Was A Disappointment –Ex-President’s Former Ally, Galadima

Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has openly expressed his profound disappointment in former President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership.

Galadima, once an ardent supporter of Buhari, aired his grievances during a candid interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time programme on Tuesday.

“Even those people you can vouch for that are good people and people who could perform end up disappointing, a good example is Buhari, I could have bet my life for Buhari on certain issues but….” Galadima stated. His criticism is particularly noteworthy given his history of unwavering support for Buhari.

Galadima’s departure from Buhari’s camp to align with opposition figures such as the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar and later with NNPP’s Rabiu Kwankwaso underscores a significant shift in his political stance.

This move highlights his growing disillusionment with Buhari’s administration.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s political landscape, Galadima questioned whether the nation’s problems are more self-inflicted by its leaders or the masses.

He lamented that even those who appear trustworthy can become unrecognizable once in power, citing Buhari as a prime example.

In his remarks, Galadima also touched upon the intricate political dynamics in Kano, a stronghold of the NNPP.

While he refrained from directly addressing the contentious reinstatement of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Emir of Kano by Governor Abba Yusuf, he emphasized the deep political entanglements in the region.

Galadima warned that the federal government’s alleged involvement in Kano’s politics could have far-reaching consequences, potentially jeopardizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The interview also highlighted Galadima’s ongoing support for Kwankwaso, noting that Kwankwaso has not exhibited the disappointing traits seen in other Nigerian politicians.
