The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has released a 10-man shortlist for the Player of the Year on Thursday.
Some of the names that made the cut are the Nigerian duo of Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) and William Troost-Ekong (Al-Kholood).
Others on the list are Achraf Hakimi (Morocco, PSG), Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire, Brighton), Ronwen Williams (South Africa, Orlando Pirates),
Serhou Guirassy (Guinea, Borussia Dortmund/Frankfurt), Amine Gouri (Algeria, Rennes), Chancel Mbemba (Congo, Marseille) and Soufiane Brahimi (Morocco, Real Madrid).
However, some of the notable names who missed out include Mohamed Salah (Egypt, Liverpool), Victor Boniface (Nigeria, Bayer Leverkusen), Nico Jackson (Senegal, Chelsea), Mohammed Kudus (Ghana, West Ham) and Brahim Diaz (Morocco, Real Madrid).
