Ahead of their Champions league game on Wednesday, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, has praised Barcelona’s young centre-back Pau Cubarsi.
According to him, Cubarsi, 17, would become one of greatest defenders in the history of the game.
The youngster has been impressive for La Blaugrana since his debut at the start of the year.
Under Hansi Flick, Cubarsi has featured in all of Barcelona’s matches across all competitions.
Kompany believes the 17-year-old has the potential to become one of the greatest defenders in the world.
“Pau Cubarsi will be one of the best defenders in football history. He is young and impressive. If injuries spare him, he will be a great player,” he told the media ahead of the match (via Barca Times)
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick himself has highlighted the defender’s ability to read the game and excel in one-versus-one situations.
Cubarsi’s impressive performances also earned him a call-up to the Spain national team.
