In a bold move aimed at enhancing career prospects and professional development for its students, Chrisland University has formalised a partnership with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN).
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the groundbreaking collaboration is set to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional expertise, providing students with real-world skills in leadership, governance, and corporate administration.
Held at the Senate Chamber of the University, the signing ceremony was marked by the presence of distinguished representatives from both Chrisland University and ICSAN.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola, in her keynote address, stressed the transformative impact of the partnership on students’ future employability.
“This collaboration underscores our commitment to preparing students for leadership roles in a competitive global economy,” she said, emphasizing the crucial need for universities to align their curricula with the demands of the professional world.
The ICSAN Governing Council Chairperson, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, reaffirmed the institute’s dedication to providing practical governance insights to Chrisland’s academic community.
She noted that the collaboration would enable students and staff to gain hands-on knowledge from experts in corporate governance and administration, ensuring that Chrisland University graduates are not only academically sound but also industry-ready.
Highlighting the shared values between Chrisland and ICSAN, Ekundayo expressed confidence that the partnership would cultivate a new generation of governance professionals equipped with the knowledge and ethical standards required to lead in both public and private sectors.
The signing of the Linkage Agreement represents a crucial step forward for Chrisland University, as it opens up pathways for students in fields such as Law, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, and Accounting to receive professional training and certification.
The benefits extend beyond students, with the potential for faculty and administrative staff to access specialized certifications in areas such as Corporate Governance, Corporate Financial Management, and Corporate Secretaryship.
ICSAN, a globally recognized professional body with roots in London and membership in the Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA), brings global expertise and professional standards to the table.
This partnership aligns Chrisland University with international best practices in governance and administration, offering its students a competitive edge in the workforce.
The Vice-Chancellor summed up the significance of the partnership by stating, “This agreement is a testament to Chrisland University’s resolve to produce graduates who are not just knowledgeable but are also highly sought after by employers.”
