A 45-year-old Administrative Officer of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Mokuolu Samuel has been remanded by the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin for fraudulent conversion of funds to the tune of N8 million.

The Officer was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on two counts of fraudulent conversion of funds before Justice Mahmoud Abdulgafar on Monday.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Following his plea, the prosecuting counsel, Aliyu Adebayo, prayed the court to give a trial date to enable the prosecution prove its case.

He also asked the court to remand Mokuolu at the correctional centre.

After listening to the arguments, Justice Abdulgafar ordered the remand of the defendant in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service and adjourned till May 30, 2023, for further hearing.
