    Crescent Varsity Students Outshine MSSN Greats

    Students of Crescent University, Abeokuta have recorded another feat by emerging in the first position of debate competition organized by the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

    The Debate Competition was part of the activities to mark the 70th Anniversary of MSSN and the 2024 edition of Jihad Week of OAU.

    In the competition, contestants from Crescent University, Muhsin Adedamola Ashimi, Olakehinde Haneef and Aisha Jami’u showed their stuff with a performance that evoked a standing ovation from the audience, outclassing the contestants from the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife to a second position.

    Other institutions represented at the competition are the University of Ibadan, Osun State College of Technology, UNIOSUN, Osun State College of Health, Federal College of Education, Oyo, The Polytechnic, Ibadan and others.

    Overall, Muhsin Adedamola Ashimi, a first class 200-level student of Mass Communication, Crescent University Abeokuta emerged in the first position of the Debate Competition and was presented with a plaque plus a cheque of One Hundred Thousand Naira.

    Also, Crescent University came fifth position in the female category of the highly contested Qur’an competition having scored 85%.

    Receiving the Crescent Team, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila said he was proud of the students’ feats, which he described as fulfilling the vision and mission of the founder, late Prince Bola Ajibola.

    The VC, on behalf of the Proprietor, Prince Adesegun Ajibola SAN, presented all the student representatives with the university souvenirs while also promising undisclosed cash gifts as rewards for their efforts
