Damaturu Poly Radio Contract: Contractor, Ex Rep Member, Makinde Reaches Truce

The battle between Ojulowo Omoluabi Empire Holdings Limited and an House of Representative member in Osun state, Rotimi Makinde, seems to have been laid to rest after several interventions.

This was contained in a statement personally signed by the Group Chairman of the company on Saturday.

But the company and the ex lawmaker have locked horns over a certain construction project in Damaturu polytechnic in Adamawa state.

    Context

The company had been awarded a contract to construct a radio station at the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu in Yobe State.

It was gathered that Makinde, who is a member of the polytechnic’s governing council, was instrumental in how Ojulowo Omoluabi Empire Holdings was awarded the project in April, 2023.

However, the former lawmaker launched an attack on the CEO of the company, Victor Eniola Mark, over the internet accusing him of relocating to the United Kingdom with the project fund.

But, the company replied that Makinde had collected N27.9 million of the money meant for the completion of the project, asking him to return same immediately.

The company also dismissed Makinde’s claiming, noting that the company’s boss had been in the Uk even before the contract was awarded.

    Resolution

Late hours on Saturday, this newspaper noticed that the politician has pulled down maligning posts initially put on his page against the Group chairman of the company.

Also in his statement, Mark enjoined everyone to put behind the rift between the company and the politician.

    Jaw Jaw Not War War

Even the toughest of wars have ended on the table of dialogue; this I have known and have been a strong advocate of.

In the last few days, I have watched the expression of anger between one of the friends of the Ojulowo Omoluabi Empire holdings, Hon. Rotimi Makinde and the top management of the company over a contract currently being handled by the company in Yobe State.

As anger brew between both parties, I have preached the need to JAW JAW to the senior staffers of my company, the reason they immediately halt the exchange of words.

I have also spoken with our friend and supporter, Hon Makinde and all differences have been resolved.

It is important to note that the company cherish her name above all things and for no reason shall we secure a contract and not deliver.

Misconceptions (a point even Hon. Makinde has agreed to) caused the needless brouhaha.

But as adults and reputable individuals, Hon Makinde and myself have discussed and resolved all issues as not only shall we deliver the job but also remain friends as always.

One thing we both agree on is that public vituperations bring no lasting good.

Therefore, following his deletion of all negative posts on social media and based on the intervention of people I hold in high esteem, I have decided that the matter be laid to rest.

    Yours faithfully
