Renowned Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has unveiled his forthcoming retirement from the music realm.

The charismatic artist shared his intention to exit the industry when the applause is resounding and vibrant, ensuring he departs before the echoes diminish into silence.

In an illuminating video interview posted on Instagram by the esteemed blogger and close associate, Tunde Ednut, the multi-award-winning singer candidly expressed his prime concern regarding his musical journey.

Davido articulated his aversion to reaching a juncture where the fervor for his musical creations wanes.

Notably, the talented musician, who recently introduced his latest masterpiece ‘Timeless’, made a steadfast commitment to step aside from the limelight when the ovation reaches its zenith.

He conveyed, “The sole aspect that unnerves me is the instance when people are moved to tears and exhilaration as I grace the stage.”

Davido acknowledged that all artists experience a point where the momentum of their careers undergoes a gradual deceleration.

Adhering to his determination to preserve his artistic legacy, he asserted, “I am resolved to retire prior to the decline, ensuring my departure is timely.”

Having taken a hiatus last year following the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, the musician emerged from a period of mourning to rekindle his musical journey. Presently, he is actively promoting his ‘Timeless’ album through an enthralling music tour across Europe.
