The Police Force Headquarters in Abuja was plunged into mourning on Monday as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abubakar Muhammad Guri, of the Police Mobile Force (MPF), was found dead in his office at the Louis Edet House.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that Guri, who showed no prior signs of illness, reportedly slumped and died shortly after arriving at his office.
According to eyewitness accounts, DCP Guri was in full uniform when he slumped in his seat.
Immediate efforts were made to provide medical assistance, but tragically, he was pronounced dead before reaching the hospital.
An eyewitness described the scene, saying, “Some officers rushed him to the hospital and even before reaching there, he had already passed away.”
