Afrobeat singer Davido and Jubril Gawat, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, engaged in a heated exchange on X over political differences.

It all started after Davido tagged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, “the most dangerous institution in Nigeria.”

The singer made the allegation on Saturday following the controversy trailing the ongoing governorship election in Edo State.

Dismissing Davido’s claim, Gawat, who is an APC member, attacked the singer with an unfavourable response.

He wrote, “This tweet means ONLY one thing.”

In response, Davido, who is a strong supporter of Edo’s PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo, wrote: “U go dey here dey tweet nonsense but any time I’m around your principal, nah you go first carry phone with flash like okirika dey blind person eye.”

Gawat fired back by sharing a video of Davido hailing and referring to his boss, Governor Sanwo-Olu, as “the real 001” during his wedding ceremony.
