Elders and residents of Ugbineh community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have hired traditionalists to invoke curses on those responsible for the burglary of a police station located in the community.

DAILY POST gathered that the traditionalists hired by the elders and residents invoked curses on Thursday on the perpetrators.

It was gathered that the police station which was built through communal efforts and yet to be commissioned for use was vandalized by unknown vandals.

The traditionalists hired by the community are Ayelala and Sango priests.

The priests were said to have performed rites, invoked curses and also asked ancestors to punish the perpetrators.

The vandals were reported to have stolen furniture, electrical cables and fittings among others in the building.

It was learned that the priests matched through the village and slaughtered animals at strategic locations.

Speaking on the incident, Pa Sunday Iyoha, one of the elders of the community condemned the act of vandalizing the police station.

Iyoha said the police station was meant to tackle insecurity in the locality.

“As we were planning to inaugurate the project, criminals invaded the police station and vandalized equipment in the building, including electrical cables,” he said.
