In a heartwarming display of community support, Abdulrasheed Kashamu, the son of the Late Sen. Buruji Kashamu, extended a helping hand to over 4000 residents of Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State.
Amidst the backdrop of Eid-el-Fitri celebrations, Kashamu distributed essential food items, predominantly rice and noodles, alongside cash gifts to alleviate the economic strain faced by many in the region.
As the current representative of Ijebu North constituency 1 at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Kashamu emphasised the importance of supporting the community during these challenging times.
He underscored the longstanding tradition within the Kashamu family of prioritising the welfare of others.
He said “whatever we do here today is the way of Kashamus, we have always believed in stretching hands of love and support to our people and it is a legacy that we inherited and which we have carried on with and we hope to do more.
“This is a gesture that has been going on for years in Kashamu family, we try to reach out to as many people as possible, uplift them, feed them and help them in our own little way.
“I use this opportunity to plead with others too who are quite privileged to lend a supportive hand, it is about all of us doing the little we can to make the society better and ensure that no one is left behind”
“This gesture reflects the values instilled by the Kashamu family,” stated Abdulrasheed during the distribution program held at his late father’s residence in Ijebu Igbo.
“We have always believed in extending love and support to our people. It’s a legacy we cherish and are committed to upholding.”
Highlighting the significance of collective action, Abdulrasheed urged others who are privileged to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He emphasised the collective responsibility of society to ensure that no one is left behind, particularly during periods of economic hardship.
Looking ahead, Abdulrasheed pledged to continue leveraging his position to facilitate more people-oriented projects in Ijebu Igbo.
Drawing inspiration from his late father’s legacy, who served as a senator representing Ogun East from 2015 to 2019, Abdulrasheed remains steadfast in his commitment to the welfare and development of the community.
