EPL: He plays like Benzema – Fabregas hails Man Utd striker

Former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has said Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee plays like Karim Benzema.

Speaking on the Planet Premier League podcast, Fabregas explained that Zirkzee likes to drop deep and be involved in build-up play.

Zirkzee came off the bench to score the winner as United began their campaign with a 1-0 win over Fulham.

Ahead of the Red Devils’ trip to Brighton, Fabregas said: “Manchester United were a little bit unconvincing against Fulham. There were moments.

“I really like Joshua Zirkee. He made a difference. As a number nine, he is like Karim Benzema—a false nine that comes deep to play and gets into the box a little bit later. He smells the goal and is a really good signing.”
