EPL: I feel sorry for him – Ex- Chelsea star sympathies with Man Utd’s Casemiro

Former Chelsea star, Craig Burley, has expressed sympathy for Manchester United midfielder Casemiro following the Red Devils’ Premier League 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

The Brazil international was taken off by manager, Erik ten Hag during the half time of their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Casemiro was largely at fault for the first two goals Man United conceded in the first half against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag replaced the Brazilian with academy graduate, Toby Collyer.

But before Casemiro was hooked off, angry home supporters turned on the former Real Madrid star, with jeers ringing out around Old Trafford.

The criticisms continued on social media after the game.

Speaking on ESPN FC, Burley said he felt sorry for Casemiro, adding that Ten Hag is the problem at Manchester United and not the player.

“I felt sorry for Casemiro because when the camera went close up on him, you could tell he was embarrassed,” Burley said.

“He has set such high standards for himself over the course of his career, and he’s struggling now. But this is a Manchester United problem, an Erik ten Hag problem.”
