Former Liverpool midfielder, Jamie Redknapp, has urged Arsenal to sign more players because Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey can’t last the whole season with injuries.

Redknapp spoke following Arsenal’s Premier League 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Recall that Jesus didn’t play against Aston Villa due to injury, while Partey scored a goal against the host.

“They [Arsenal] do [need more players]. He mentioned a player there, I’m a big fan of, Jesus – but can he last a whole season with injuries? The same with Partey,” Redknapp said via Sky Sports.

“He’s an important player in defensive midfield.

“They are talking about getting in Merino who had a really good Euros for Spain, he is a perfect profile for the Premier League, I’m sure that is going to happen.”

Arsenal have been linked to sign both a new striker and a midfielder before the summer transfer window closes.
