…Suspects Arrested Over Threat To Kabiyesi’s Life – Police

Pandemonium broke out  in Imashai, in the Yewa-North local government area of Ogun State, as residents dumped the body of an unconscious resident, Adam Orisasami, at the palace of the Olu of Imashai, Oba Lukman Kuoye.

PLATFORM TIMES’ investigation revealed that the victim was struck with a charm by one Jimoh Osoalu, popularly called Jimoh Goboi, who is believed to be one of the aides to the Oba.

The crisis, which started on Wednesday, escalated on Thursday when it was discovered that one of the Oba’s  purported aides was responsible for the plight of Orisasami.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the trouble started when a resident, Shakiru Alaluwo, reportedly  hurled insults and abuse at one of the wives of the Oba.

The queen reportedly lodged the complaint to her husband, who reportedly took it up and sent for Alaluwo.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Alaluwo was reportedly beaten by two of the aides of Kabiyesi identified as Chief Bolarinwa Ewulo, who is the Akinrogun of Imashai, and one Rafiu Durosinmi, the son of the Chief priest in the town.

In the video clips obtained by PLATFORM TIMES, the Kabiyesi’s aides were seen holding  the man who abused the monarch’s wife.

While the aides were struggling to take the man to the Kabiyesi for possible reprimand , Orisasami was reportedly filming their activities  which, it was gathered ,  did not go down well with them .

PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that Orisasami was struck with the charm by Osoalu  for filming the actions of the Oba’s aides.

In the video,a voice was heard asking Orisasami   to stop the filming, but he declined.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Osoalu was not caught while he was allegedly striking Orisasami with the charm.

 But, he was accused the following day, Thursday, when the victim was found unconscious. 

The family of the victim angrily took the body to the palace, asking for the antidote.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the Kabiyesi hurriedly fled the palace while the crisis lasted and later returned to the palace after the policemen were deployed in the palace and the town. 

The protesters were seen invading the palace, holding leaves, and later dumped  the victim in the palace. 

After waiting endlessly for the antidote and could not get any, the victim was reportedly taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Joga-Orile, for  treatment. 

Some tests were reportedly run on the victim. 

A source who pleads anonymity said the family was advised to use traditional means as the case was not medical.

 PLATFORM TIMES could not confirm the claim; however, he was said to have been taken to a traditionalist in Benin Republic. 

The source told PLATFORM TIMES that the victim has been responding to treatment.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident .

Odutola said the matter was a threat to life of Kabiyesi and his family.

She said the command has launched a manhunt for the suspect who allegedly struck the victim with a charm as he was said to have fled the town.

She narrated, “Kabiyesi’s wife called the Kabiyesi that some group of people, including Rahman Ewulo, Omoniyi Lukman, Orobiyi Muse, Nurudeen Idowu, Adam Orisasami, Ismail Orisasami, Toheeb Orisasami, Idowu Mutiu, and Idowu Yakub. Odutola said, “She alleged that they were threatening her life and that they were laying curses on both herself and the husband, who is the king, that they will die prematurely and not last on the throne, that they will not live long. She called her all sorts of unprintable names.

“Then the Kabiyesi sent some people there, and truly they met them, and they repeated the same threat in the presence of the Kabiyesi man. So, that prompted him to hold one of them, so along the line two of them were arrested, and both parties were taken to the Area Commander Ayetoro office. Later that night, a group of people led by Idowu Toheeb, Idowu Tajudeen, and Taofiki Orisasami brought the body of one Orisasami to the station that he was charmed by one Jimoh Osoalu. “A medical form was issued to that effect to the victim, but they declined, saying they will treat him traditionally. They later again came back for the form, so the DPO went to the hospital to visit the victim. When the police saw the doctor on duty, he confirmed that they brought the victim, but the people that brought him did not allow the doctor to touch or do anything on the victim. And we learned that some traditionalists have taken him to an unknown destination.

“So, the Olu of Imashai, Oba Lukman Olalekan, called to report that the same group of people are attacking his palace. He informed the Area Commander that the same people are attacking the palace. The police called for reinforcement and restored peace in the palace and in the town.

“Threat to life, conducting themselves to disturb the peace. Some unscrupulous elements are disturbing the peace in the palace and of  the king.

“He was taken to an unknown destination. I don’t know if it is Benin Republic. Normalcy has returned. Every fact will be proven beyond its own merit.”
