The Ogun state former Police  Public Relations Officer, SP, Abimbola Oyeyemi, has urged journalists, traditional rulers, the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, and other  people of the state to extend their supportive hands to his successor, Omolola Odutola.

Oyeyemi, on Sunday, 11th of June, 2023 was celebrated, at a sendforth party, organized for him by the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria, Ogun state chapter.

Speaking at the event, Oyeyemi stated that the support he got from the people of Ogun state was what made him to  attain a successful seven-year tenure.

According to him, journalists in the state made my job easier, they were always available, whenever I  called on them.

He said, “you people made my job easy, and at a very short notice, if I call you, you always respond to me, I’ll never forget, and I’ll continue to relate, at a  personal level, at an  official level. We have established a relationship that I believe is going to last for a long period of time.”

He therefore asked for the same support given to him to be transferred to his successor, adding that he wanted  her to also be successful.

He said, “I want to appeal to the people of Ogun State and especially, media people  that the type of cooperation that I enjoyed from you that made me have this successful tenure, they should please extend it to my successor.”

He however, disclosed that he served seven Commissioners of Police.as the PPRO.

In his words, “the CP’s have always given me  the freedom to showcase myself, which made me achieve much of my goals.

“Starting from retired AIG Ahmed Ilyasu, who appointed me as the PPRO, when he was going, he handed me over to CP Bashir Makama, who has retired now as AIG, so CP Edward Ajogun took over from there, I continued with him, CP Lanre Bankole took over from there, I continued with him, then my boss, the former force PRO, CP Frank Mbah, who is now AIG, I worked with him, and I enjoyed the little time we worked together, indeed, he’s a father and the last but not the least is CP Olanrewaju Oladimeji, so all of them have been wonderful bosses.

“There’s no where I’ll go that I’ll forget Ogun State, this is my second home, I’ve been here for some time, and people appreciate what I’ve done so far and I appreciate them too,” he said.
