In a surprising turn of event, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Olanrewaju Ishola provided water and snacks to Endbadgovernance protesters in the state on Tuesday.

DAILY POST reports that the protesters who are majorly youths had marched from Ikeja Under Bridge to Gani Fawehinmi Park, seeking improved economic situation.

The protest was organised by civil society organisations.

The protesters carried placards with different inscriptions calling for an end to hardship in the country.

One of the coordinators, Mr Omoyele Sowore, the Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2023 elections, said that the economic situation in the country needed urgent attention.

He urged the Federal Government to take more steps to reduce the hardship.

“We are out to exercise our rights as Nigerians and draw attention to the hardship faced by citizens.

“We are appealing to the government to punish corrupt citizens and address the high cost of living in Nigeria,” he said.

Mr Hassan Soweto, another coordinator of the protest and member of the Youth Rights Campaign, urged the government to address hunger and hardship urgently.

Soweto urged that the protesters should not be seen as bad, claiming that they were acting in the general interest of Nigerians.
