    Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Produces 795 Distinction-Grade Graduands At 21st Convocation

    The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro celebrated its 21st Convocation ceremony, presenting a total of 10,477 graduands with National Diplomas and Higher National Diplomas.

    Of these, an impressive 795 students were certified with distinction grades, showcasing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.

    Rector Dr. Mukail Akinde commended the graduating class, emphasizing that all the graduands demonstrated both exemplary character and outstanding academic achievements.

    The Convocation Statistics revealed noteworthy achievements in various programs, with 179 students earning distinction in the HND program and 164 in the ND programme.

    The best-performing students were recognized during the ceremony. Sanusi Kehinde Salimot and Sotuminu Elizabeth Temitope led the HND program with a remarkable 3.89 CGPA, while Adeleke Asisat Ayobami excelled in the ND program with a 3.88 CGPA.

    In the 2022/2023 graduating class, Salaudeen Azeezat Arike and Ogungbayi Alimot Abisola stood out with a 3.90 CGPA in the HND programme, while Awojoola, Samuel Adeyemi, impressed with the same CGPA in the ND programme.

    Highlighting the institution’s commitment to innovation, Rector Dr. Mukail Akinde showcased two outstanding feats supported by TETFund – a Biometric Device and an Electric Tri-cycle.

    The biometric device, designed and assembled by students and lecturers, showcased the institution’s dedication to practical, hands-on learning.

    During the convocation, Alimot Abisola Ogungbayi, speaking on behalf of distinction-earned graduands, expressed gratitude to the school for its tireless efforts.

    She pledged to remain a good ambassador in their respective endeavors.

    The ceremony also marked the awarding of the Institution’s fellowship to distinguished alumnus Dr. Adedoyin Tokunboh Ogunfemi.

    Rector Dr. Mukail Akinde praised Dr. Ogunfemi’s notable service to the institution, country, and humanity, acknowledging his impactful endowments and unwavering dedication to the Polytechnic’s brand.

    Rector Dr. Mukail Akinde encouraged the graduands to utilize the skills acquired during their 21st-century training, reminding them of the significant investments made by their parents, the institution, and the nation.
