FG Unveils Ambitious Plan to Eradicate Insecurity By 2024

In a bold and determined move, the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced its commitment to putting an end to the prevailing insecurity issues in the country by the year 2024.

Dr Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, made this announcement during an interview with BBC Hausa, acknowledging the gravity of the security challenges faced by the nation.

Matawalle expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the measures taken by the Federal Government, emphasizing that these actions would play a crucial role in addressing the recurring attacks orchestrated by gunmen.

“If God willing, from now until 2024, all other security problems will be overcome,” Matawalle declared, underlining the government’s dedication to combating the menace of insecurity.

Highlighting the collaborative efforts underway, the minister emphasized that state governors grappling with security issues are actively working in tandem with the federal government to overcome these challenges.

In particular, Matawalle called upon Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, to seek cooperation from both security agencies and the Federal Government to successfully combat insecurity within the state.

Surprisingly, Matawalle revealed that despite the severity of the security situation in Zamfara State, Governor Lawal has not reached out for assistance.

“The governor of the state has never contacted me and Badaru or asked to meet with us on the security problem of his state,” lamented Matawalle.

He urged the Zamfara State Governor to set aside any personal differences and focus on finding a collective solution to the security crisis, emphasizing the importance of unity in overcoming the challenges faced by the people of Zamfara.

As the Federal Government takes decisive steps to address insecurity nationwide, the call for collaboration among state governors, security agencies, and the central government echoes the collective responsibility required to achieve lasting peace and stability.

The success of this ambitious plan hinges on the cooperation and coordination of all stakeholders involved in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.
