    First News General Editor Resigns, Calls For Settlement Of Unpaid Salaries

    In a startling turn of events, Segun Olatunji, the General Editor of First News, has tendered his resignation amidst growing controversy surrounding the Gbajabiamila story. The decision comes in light of the company management’s stance on the matter, prompting Olatunji to prioritize the safety of himself and his family.

     In his statement, he stressed  the need for his departure due to the prevailing circumstances.

    “I hereby tender my resignation as the General Editor of First News,” Olatunji declared. “It has become imperative for me to resign my appointment for the safety of my person and my family.”

    Despite his resignation, Olatunji  said he remains steadfast in his conviction that the truth will eventually come to light, hinting at a potential clash of narratives in the future.

    Furthermore, Olatunji took the opportunity to address outstanding financial matters with the company.

     “I hope the Management of First Media Network Limited, publishers of First News newspaper, will be magnanimous enough to fully settle the one-year outstanding salaries I am being owed, in no time,” he stated.

    Acknowledging his tenure with the company, Olatunji expressed gratitude to the management for the opportunity to contribute to its operations over the past four years. 

    His resignation marks a significant departure from First News, leaving behind a void in its editorial leadership.

    Resignation as General Editor

     

    In view of the latest development regarding the Gbajabiamila story and the stance of the company’s Management, I hereby tender my resignation as the General Editor of First News.

     

    It has become imperative for me to resign my appointment for the safety of my person and my family.

     

    However, I want to state that in no distant time, the truth will come out and then it’ll be my word against theirs.

     

    I hope the Management of First Media Network Limited, publishers of First News newspaper, will be magnanimous enough to fully settle the one year outstanding salaries I am being owed, in no time. 

     

    I thank the company’s management for giving me the opportunity to contribute my quota to its operations in the past four years.
